These Non-Tech AI Jobs Pay More Than $200K a Year

AI job postings in the US have doubled in the past three years, and according to an October 2026 study by MobiusPay, that hiring boom includes plenty of non-tech roles too. For anyone eyeing a career at an AI company without coding skills, this latest study reveals the top 10 jobs that are in demand and pay well.
AI companies pay lawyers an average of $274K a year, 72% more than legal professionals make in any other industry.
Financial and investment analysts are in high demand across the AI industry, with 8 tech companies looking to fill these roles, including Anthropic and OpenAI.
Graphic designers can more than double their pay if they land a job at a big AI company, going from 120K to $150K.
The research analyzed H-1B job filings from AI companies to identify which non-technical roles are in high demand and pay the most. It measured the median salary companies offered for each job, comparing that number to what the same role pays across the rest of the country. The study also tracked how many companies hired for each position, how many workers were requested, and how much of that hiring came from a single company. Occupations were then ranked from highest to lowest median wage.
Here's a look at the top 10 best-paid non-tech jobs at AI companies:

Lawyers are the best-paid non-tech professionals in the AI industry right now. On average, they're making $274K a year, a 72% jump from what counsels typically make in any other industry. Five different AI companies have hired for this role over the past two years, with Anthropic the most active in the market, filing for more lawyers than any other big tech company in the US.
2. Marketing Managers
Marketing managers rank second, earning $263K a year on average. That’s about 58% more than colleagues in other industries. This non-tech position is also in high demand, with 10 different AI companies bringing people on board. Databricks hired the most, though they offered a smaller salary for the role, at $226K.
3. General and Operations Managers
General and operations managers can see a big pay rise if they land a job in tech. These managers earn $226K on average at AI companies, more than double what the same job pays everywhere else. Four companies have hired for the role over the past two years, with Crusoe alone bringing in workers from abroad four times. Other big employers also included Notion and Mercor.
4. Financial Managers
Financial managers rank fourth, earning $225K a year, about 35% more than their counterparts make outside the AI industry. That's also above what the government considers a fair prevailing wage for the role. Five different companies have hired for this role throughout the study period. Applied Intuition stood out as the top hirer, with other employers including Databricks, EliseAI, Harvey, and Skild AI.
5. Human Resources Managers
Human resources managers round out the top five non-tech roles in AI. They earn $210K a year on average, 41% more than HR managers make outside the industry, and about 4.5% above the government's prevailing wage for the role. Overall, four companies have been hiring for this position in the past 21 months, led by Databricks, with Anthropic, Clay, and Glean also bringing people on.
A market research analyst from MobiusPay commented on the study:
"We often hear that AI will take our jobs, but so far, it is also creating new ones. AI foundation-model startups increased their headcount by 107% last year, showing just how quickly the industry is growing. AI is also becoming a bigger part of the wider job market, with 8% of job postings on Indeed now mentioning artificial intelligence. And the demand is not limited to tech workers. As our research shows, more employers are looking for people who can use AI in fields such as marketing, sales, design, and other everyday roles. This means you do not necessarily need to be a programmer to benefit from the AI boom. Having AI skills alongside experience in another field could become increasingly valuable."
