Abstract: Workers aged 55 and older now make up nearly a quarter of the U.S. workforce, yet they are frequently left out of the AI capability-building reshaping organizations. This article synthesizes recent AARP survey data, early labor market evidence on generative AI, peer-reviewed research on age stereotypes, age-diversity climate, job design, and older adults' learning, and documented organizational cases. It finds that older workers are increasingly familiar with AI and interested in learning to use it, but that a large gap separates interest from training received, that age stereotypes about technology persist, and that AI-enabled hiring tools have created new legal exposure for age discrimination. Early evidence suggests that AI's employment effects have so far fallen most heavily on young entry-level workers rather than experienced ones. The article proposes five evidence-based responses: age-inclusive AI training design, bias-proofed hiring and AI tools, career conversations at every age, mutual mentoring in multigenerational teams, and flexible, phased work with structured knowledge transfer. It concludes with three long-term capabilities for sustaining an age-inclusive AI workforce.

Modern organizations frequently exclude older workers from artificial intelligence capability development due to persistent technological stereotypes and biased algorithmic hiring tools. Empirical data demonstrates that employees aged fifty and older possess strong interest in artificial intelligence combined with substantial institutional judgment, yet they experience a significant training gap in the workplace. To leverage this demographic asset, companies must implement age-inclusive practices including universal upskilling, unbiased hiring protocols, and reciprocal mentorship models. Establishing a supportive age-diversity climate ultimately enhances organizational performance while effectively mitigating legal risks associated with demographic discrimination.

Rising global temperatures present a critical challenge for occupational health and leadership, driving up injury rates, reducing productivity, and threatening vulnerable workers across various industries. Despite stalled federal safety regulations, an expanding patchwork of state and local rules requires organizations to proactively manage thermal hazards rather than wait for unified mandates. Effective management relies on evidence-based interventions, such as written prevention plans, gradual acclimatization for new hires, reliable cooling engineering, and guaranteed access to water, rest, and shade. Furthermore, organizations must treat heat stress as an enterprise risk by integrating safety protocols into long-term workforce planning and extending accountability across entire supply chains. Ultimately, leaders must adapt to a hotter baseline climate by prioritizing worker safety, refining operational schedules, and fostering environments where employees can voice concerns without fear of penalty.
