This disconnect leaves teachers, families, and students vulnerable to documented harms, including AI-related psychological distress. This article examines the current landscape of AI readiness in schools, analyzes organizational and individual consequences of the ethics training gap, and presents evidence-based interventions—from educator capability building and transparent governance frameworks to cross-sector partnerships and ethical curriculum design.
