About the Journal:
Future of Work: The Journal of Labor Transformation, Technology Integration, and Human Adaptation is a multidisciplinary academic publication dedicated to understanding and shaping the rapidly evolving landscape of employment, careers, and workplace dynamics. Our mission is to bridge scholarship across labor studies, organizational behavior, technology studies, and workforce development to address the profound transformations reshaping how, where, and why people work.
Future of Work publishes rigorously peer-reviewed articles, empirical studies, and theoretical frameworks that showcase:
-
Original research examining how technological advancement—particularly artificial intelligence and automation—is transforming job characteristics, skill requirements, and employment relationships
-
Empirical and theoretical investigations into workforce adaptation, reskilling strategies, and career development in technology-intensive environments
-
Cross-disciplinary scholarship exploring workplace diversity, inclusion, and the experiences of varied populations (generational cohorts, neurodivergent workers, displaced workers) in evolving labor markets
-
Evidence-based frameworks for understanding human-technology collaboration, work redesign, and the preservation of human agency and well-being amid technological change
We prioritize work that centers human experience and adaptation while examining technological transformation. Our aim is to provide a publishing space that advances both understanding and actionable solutions for workers, organizations, policymakers, and educators navigating labor market disruption.
Through collaborative, interdisciplinary approaches, Future of Work amplifies scholarship that informs policy, organizational practice, and educational strategies to ensure technology-driven transformation enhances rather than diminishes human flourishing in work contexts. We welcome submissions from researchers, educators, policymakers, and practitioners across labor economics, organizational studies, human resource management, technology studies, sociology, and related fields.
Future of Work aims to advance equitable, sustainable employment futures through the global exchange of empirically grounded, theoretically robust knowledge. Quantitative and qualitative research, mixed-methods studies, longitudinal investigations, practitioner-oriented frameworks, and conceptual articles exploring the transformation of work are welcomed.
The journal provides a forum for the rapid dissemination of rigorously peer-reviewed research, case studies, evaluations, and commentary on contemporary issues relating to workforce transformation, technology integration, career evolution, and the changing employment landscape in an era of unprecedented technological and social change.
By centering human adaptation and well-being, Future of Work amplifies scholarship and strategies that shape technology-driven labor transformation toward outcomes that benefit workers, organizations, and society.
