Human Performance: The Journal of Excellence, Capability Development, and Organizational Effectiveness is a multidisciplinary academic publication dedicated to advancing the science and practice of optimizing human capability in organizational contexts. Our mission is to bridge scholarship across performance psychology, human factors, organizational development, and systems thinking to understand and enhance how individuals and collectives achieve exceptional results.
Human Performance publishes rigorously peer-reviewed articles, empirical studies, and theoretical frameworks that showcase:
-
Original research examining the multidimensional factors that enable, sustain, or degrade human performance across individual, team, and organizational levels
-
Empirical and theoretical investigations into exceptional achievement, expertise development, and the psychological and systemic conditions that foster peak performance
-
Cross-disciplinary scholarship integrating insights from psychology, systems science, human factors engineering, and organizational studies to develop comprehensive performance models
-
Evidence-based frameworks for understanding performance readiness, capability assessment, skill development, and the design of high-performance work systems
We prioritize work that adopts systems perspectives while maintaining focus on human experience, agency, and development. Our aim is to provide a publishing space that advances both theoretical understanding and practical application of performance science across diverse organizational contexts—from education to industry, healthcare to military settings.
Through rigorous, integrative inquiry, Human Performance amplifies scholarship that transforms how organizations develop, support, and optimize human capability. We welcome submissions from researchers and practitioners across organizational psychology, human factors, education, performance science, talent development, and related fields.
Human Performance aims to advance the science of human excellence through the global exchange of empirically grounded, theoretically robust knowledge. Quantitative and qualitative research, mixed-methods studies, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, practitioner-oriented frameworks, and conceptual articles exploring human capability and organizational effectiveness are welcomed.
The journal provides a forum for the rapid dissemination of rigorously peer-reviewed research, case studies, assessments, and commentary on contemporary issues relating to performance optimization, capability development, talent management, and the evolving understanding of what enables individuals and organizations to achieve exceptional outcomes.
By integrating systems thinking with human-centered perspectives, Human Performance amplifies scholarship that transforms organizational practice to enhance both individual flourishing and collective effectiveness.
